The Pastor Search Committee announces that our candidate to serve as Senior Pastor at Cook Baptist Church is coming to preach in view of a call on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Every church family was mailed a copy of the candidate's résumé and the schedule of related activities late last week. The Pastor Search Committee announced the candidate on Sunday, June 18. On Wednesday Evening, June 21 during the regular church business meeting, the Pastor Search Committee will share more specific information and be available to answer questions concerning our candidate for Senior Pastor of Cook.
There will be a church-wide Meet and Greet Fellowship on Saturday, June 24 at 3 p.m. in the Family Life Center. This will allow an opportunity for you to meet our prospective pastor and his wife. There will follow a question and answer time in the sanctuary at 4:00 p.m. to allow you to get acquainted with our candidate.
Our candidate will preach at both the morning and evening worship services on Sunday, June 25. Immediately following the Sunday Evening Worship Service, a vote will be taken by secret ballot to extend a call. The results will be announced as soon as the ballots have been tallied. A 90% affirmative vote of those present and voting is required to extend the call.
The Pastor Search Committee has been involved in months of diligent prayer and active engagement in this process. There is whole-hearted, unanimous agreement that God has led in this search. The committee is very excited to be presenting this candidate to you. Please make plans to participate in this important event in the life of our church. Pray that God would be honored and glorified with this this very important decision we as a church will make.
