Children's Ministry - December 2015

Blessings come in all ages! As I am sitting drinking coffee having my devotional time reading and studying the bible Saturday morning, I see my son Justin waking up, he comes in the kitchen puts his arm around my shoulder and hugs me with a huge bear hug, then he sits down in my lap. I bet your thinking how sweet! What really is awesome is he is 20 years old and he is a Marine, he surprised us last week with a 24 day visit home! As we sit there he tells me how thankful and appreciative he is to be able to be home for a few weeks, how he has really missed the family and just being home! He knows the prayers that have covered him the months he has been gone of hoping he could be with us through the holidays! I pray for every family to have the love to share with a stranger or a family member through the holidays! I know the heartache of losing a parent and not being able to see a child during the holidays! I hope that each of you share your homes and your love with others through the year. Memories with your family is a gift God gives us, so cherish those memories! Reach out to your church family and love on them, fellowship together!

As we all get excited for Christmas and the weather gets colder, let’s not forget to share the most important story of all, Jesus' Birth! The hearts of our children are precious so spend time cuddling with your children or grandchildren and reading to them from the Bible, no matter their age they get it!

We have got exciting news for our Preschool and Children Departments we are going to "Deck the Hall" for December!!

Also there is news of Ruston having Ice skating from Dec. 3rd-Dec. 14th. More information to come!

If you have any questions please call or email!

Children's Ministry - January 2016

Happy New Year! We have been busy this last month. It’s time to take all the Christmas stuff down, including the tree. I have jokingly told my family before, I will just leave it in the corner and decorate it for every holiday of the year. They did not like that idea very well.

I pray your families all have great health, peace, hope, joy, happiness, and love through the year 2016! As we start the new year, we will have new schedules coming in January. Watch for approximate dates on Facebook at Cook Kidz Ministry and at church. Wednesday's will start at 6:00pm and end at 7:30pm. We also have exciting news- Team KIDS Club will be starting for preschool-6th grade.

We will have Bible Drill and Missions on Sunday evenings. If you have any questions, call me. Invite your friends to join in on the fun!

Coming in January
Cook Kidz Ministry Team meeting Jan. 6th
Cook Kidz Club Jan. 8th
Lift Groups Jan. 10
Ministry Fair Jan. 24th

Thank you,
Rebecca Welch

Children's Ministry - November 2015

Happy Fall Ya'll! We had a great night at Cook Kidz Club last month! We had some awesome parents help with our Bible lesson, crafts, and then movies! We learned a story about how our lives are like a pumpkin!

God picks us from the pumpkin patch, brings us in from the field and He then washes the dirt from the world off of us. All the influences from the other pumpkins still living in the world become cleaned off and we become clean and new! He carefully removes all of the yucky stuff called sin that tries to stick to us, which sin takes away the love and joy that God has for us. He then changes us from the inside out through our heart, mind, and actions. That is why it is important to go to church and learn about God's Word. He carefully removes all of the seeds of doubt, fear, greed, disrespect and hate. He replaces them with seeds of faith, hope and love. After Jesus is invited inside, you begin to experience the changing power of God's love in your life. We then become so grateful that it shows in our eyes and on our face, He carves a new smiling face on us. Now we have a light that shines through all we do and say. Our light comes from the Son of Light, and He shines through us for all to see.

Let your light shine before men that they may be able to see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Thank you to everyone who donated items for our rummage sales. Thirteen kids were able to attend camp because of your generous contributions both to the rummage sale and to the kids camp fund. Your support is amazing and we are truly grateful!

Once they've connected with their group, they will move to the fellowship hall for pizza, popcorn, and the movie UP!

August 22: Preteen Invasion - Kids 4th through 6th grade from all over north Louisiana will meet together to learn how to soar like an Eagle as they face tough times in the upcoming school year. We will meet at the church at 8:30 and be back at 3:30.
