In today’s life, it seems like every decision we make is a big one. What’s right? What’s wrong? Who do I listen to? It’s not easy to hear the voice of God when the world is speaking so loudly! However, God says we’ll be blessed if we listen to His voice and remain true to what we know is right and wrong according to His word. As Christians, God expects us to discern His voice amidst all the other voices that come our way. Therefore, we have to speak to God often. If we only speak to Him once a week, once a month, or once a year, we won’t be able to recognize His voice. We have to have a personal, everyday relationship with God so that we can recognize His voice amongst all the other voices that are speaking so loudly. Pray to God daily. Seek His face in every situation. He is faithful to His followers, and He wants to be the center of your life and my life!
Awana Club is coming to Cook Baptist Church beginning September 5th! AWANA is a Bible-centered kid’s program for PreK3- through 6th graders. We’ll provide a place for children to make friends; play exciting games; learn God’s Word, learn to apply scriptures in their life by becoming involved in missions, and receive awards as encouragement for their efforts! Our goal is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him! You can REGISTER at: www.cookbc.org.
One of the greatest honors a pastor can place upon another is an invitation to preach in his church. On August 8th at 7PM, I will be preaching the Wednesday night revival service at Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach with Pastor Connie Smith. Pastor Smith has shared with me his desire to see God’s Spirit move in power during this week of services, so please be praying for your pastor that I will preach the Word of God in a manner that will allow the Holy Spirit to draw people to Jesus.
August 12 – Church-wide Homemade Ice-Cream Fellowship after the evening service. We will have a very surprise guest as our entertainment! I promise you don’t want to miss it!
August 19 – Special prayer for new school year during 10:15 service.
August 22 – Awana Club worker’s meeting, 6:30PM.
August 29 – Awana Club Parent Orientation, 6PM.
September 2 – Fan Day at Cook. Wear your favorite team colors. Since we have people from different parts of the country, I can’t wait to see which teams will stand out in the crowd! This Sunday would be a great time to invite some neighbors, co-workers and friends to join you for worship. If they are a sports fan, this is a perfect opportunity to introduce them to our church.
September 5 – Awana Club Official Kickoff, 6PM.
I love you with the love of the Lord!
