From Pastor Jeff - September 2017

[dropcap]I am so proud to be called “Pastor” of Cook Baptist Church. Thank you for all the many acts of kindness you have expressed to Susan and me over the past month. The future is bright; and we are looking forward to seeing God do great things for His Kingdom in the days ahead. Let’s keep moving forward and finish strong! We are a people of action at Cook Baptist Church. Let’s Go To Work.[/dropcaap]

As a coach would remind his players of the game, let me remind us again of “The Cook Baptist Church Connect Challenge”:

  • Greet someone you have never met (before and after worship).
  • Introduce people to each other.
  • Follow-up with someone you met.
  • Thank someone for doing something you appreciate.

Four basic needs of people:

  • The need to feel welcome.
  • The need to be understood.
  • The need to feel important.
  • The need for comfort.

Matthew 7:12 tells us “…in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you…”

“Every person in the church must understand his or her unique role in making ministry to guests happen.” ~ Stan Toler

Luke 9:11 says, “But crowds learned about it and followed Him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.”

“Assimilation begins in the parking lot, not when people return for a second visit or join the church.” ~ William Easum

1 Peter 4:9-10 says, “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

See you this Sunday at Cook! I love you with the love of the Lord!
