The first S.N.A.C. for the month of December will be on the first Sunday evening at Pizza Inn immediately following the Christmas Musical performed by Cook Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church adult choirs. The next S.N.A.C. will be on the third Sunday evening at Phillip and Joanne Hood's home. We will be having a bonfire and fun evening of fellowship and games.
Youth Christmas Party will be on Wednesday evening, December 10 in the Youth Room at 6:00 PM. Students are asked to bring a white elephant gift for the party. If you do purchase something, please don't spend more than ten dollars for a gift. Parents, we are doing something different this year for food for our party. If you have a student the Youth 1 Department, which is 7 & 8 grade boys and girls, then we are asking them to bring some type of appetizer. If you have a student in the Youth 2 Department, which is 9 & 10 grade boys
and girls, then we are asking them to bring some type of cozy foods like soup or chili. If you have a student in the Youth 3 Department, which is 11 & 12 grade boys and girls, then we are asking them to bring some type of dessert. Parents, we will probably go until 7:30 or 8:00 PM to allow us enough time to do all we have planned for the party.
Winter Retreat will be Wednesday, December 31 through Saturday, January 3 at Shepherd of the Ozarks near Harriet, AR. The cost of the trip will be $150. The cost will include lodging for three nights, meals during the retreat, and a student book of the Bible studies. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due by Sunday, December 7 in order to guarantee your spot for the retreat. We will be staying in Big Creek Lodge. The remaining balance will be due Sunday, December 28. On-site activities the youth have the opportunity to participate in are: fishing (bring your own gear and light tackle [barbless hooks preferred please]), hiking, covered basketball court, sand pit volleyball, gaga dodgeball, 9-hole disc golf course, horseshoes, and recreation fields. The activities that have additional cost and must have 10 or more participants are: wilderness paintball, which is $20, high ropes challenge course, which is $20, horseback riding, which is $15, and cliffhanger (swing), which is $10. The cost of these activities is not included in the $150. These activities are optional and the cost is extra. There are two meals that are not included in the $150. We will be stopping for lunch on the way there and on the way home. Parents, if you are interested in going on the Winter Retreat, please get with me as soon as possible so I may know that you would like to go and I may discuss the cost for you to go. There are medical release forms that will need to be completed in order for you to go and participate in the activities.
I would like to invite all parents that would be interested in helping to plan and carry out youth activities to join the youth support team. We usually have our meeting on the first Wednesday night of every month at 7:15 PM in the Youth 3 Room upstairs in the Ministry Building. If you are interested in being part of the Youth Support Team, then catch me sometime at church or give me a call at the church office. I would love to visit with you on how you can be involved.
