Youth Ministry - November 2018

I can’t believe it is already November! This fall has really flown by! Things are going good with Cook Students! We are seeing students grow in their faith and I am excited about the future of what God has in store for our ministry. Of course, one of the things we are always reminded of, during this time, is Thankfulness. I am thankful to be at Cook Baptist Church serving with wonderful people. I am thankful for a great group of students that love the Lord and desire to grow in their walk with Him. I am thankful for awesome parents that step up to serve and help in every way possible. I am thankful for an awesome church family that supports their student ministry. I am also thankful for a Great God who loves us and makes all of this possible! What are you thankful for today? Here are some upcoming events.

Youth Evangelism Celebration – November 18th – 19th in Alexandria, LA.
Dates announced soon for Friend Night, Bonfire, and our Christmas Party!

In Christ,
Wes

Youth Ministry - October 2018

One of my favorite times of the year is fall! It brings change and cooler weather. There is nothing like seeing the leaves begin to change and the different colors that they bring. I want to let you know about a few upcoming things happening and one important thing to remember.

Remember: Stay connected! Fall can also bring business of life because you begin to gear up for the holidays and sometimes we can lose focus. Stay connected to your church and those that are going to encourage you and build you up.

Upcoming!
Gumbo Fundraiser: October 21st. This is a cook-off event! We need people to bring gumbo so the masses can decide whose is the best. Sign up by calling the church office or in the welcome center!

5th Quarter: October 26th from “after the game” – Midnight. This will be an open gym time to hang out! We will have food. Remember, if your student is 16 they need to leave by curfew or have someone pick them up!

YEC: Youth Evangelism Celebration in Alexandria, LA is November 18th – 19th. Look for more information about this event in our church announcements

Youth Ministry - September 2018

Whew! School has started and we are in full swing! It’s exciting to come to church and hear about how students are inviting their friends. I am so excited about what God is doing! We’ve begun painting and carpeting classrooms and are giving the youth room a “fresh” look! Swing by and check out the progress! We are praying for God to do incredible things this school year and He already is! It’s a great time to be at Cook!

Youth Ministry - August 2018

What a summer it has been! God is doing a mighty work in the life of our student ministry and church as a whole! I am so excited to be a part of Cook Baptist! Summertime is ending and shortly our students will be returning to school! This brings groans from them but also so many opportunities! We are looking forward to what God has in store this fall! Three things to remember:

  1. Stay Connected – Life gets busy with school starting. There is always something going on. Remember to make your
students spiritual needs a priority and stay plugged into what is going on here at Cook Baptist.
  2. Deposit Encouragement – School is tough. Studying, papers and projects. Remember to continue to encourage one another. Encouragement drives the boat!
  3. Grow Your Faith – Don’t check out. Look for daily opportunities to grow your faith and your witness and see how God uses you this semester!

Whether you are a grandparent, parent, or student; God has some incredible things in store for you! Stay connected, Deposit
Encouragement, and Grow Your Faith!
